Dear Parents,With just three weeks remaining in what has been a very quick term, I ask that you note the following:
School Plays.
The children in Jun Infants, Senior Infants, 3 rd , 4 th & 5 th classes have been working hard on preparing their school
plays and will present their school plays as follows:
Tuesday December 10th Senior Infants – Ralf the Reindeer @ 1p.m.
Wednesday 11th December – Junior Infants – Christmas Medley @ 1p.m.
Tuesday 17th December – 5th Class – An Inspector Calls @ 7p.m.
Wednesday 18th December – 3rd Class – Snow White & the Teeny Tribe @ 6:45p.m.
4 th Class – PM Panto Pandemonium @ 7:45p.m.
Parents and guests are invited along to view the plays as per the above. You are asked to be in your seats at least
15 minutes before the start of the play. I’m sure that you will be in for a treat as I know that the children are
excited to perform for their parents. We look forward to welcoming you back after the disruptions which forced
the cancellation of the performances in previous years.
School Choir.
Our school choir has been invited to take part in two performances prior to the end of term. On 15 th December the
choir will perform at the annual St Vincent De Paul, seasonal concert which will be held in Ballyhaunis Friary
commencing at 7p.m. Parents are welcome to come along to this concert which will feature all choirs from the
town performing a medley of seasonal songs. As the children will perform twice, at the beginning and at the finale
parents who attend will need to arrange to stay for the duration of the concert. The children will sit in a designated
area during the times when they are not performing. It is expected that the concert will last for about one hour.
On Thursday December 19 th , the choir will perform at Ireland West Airport to welcome those returning home
from abroad for the Christmas period. The children also performed at the airport last year in what was a very
enjoyable occasion.
Parents are asked to note that only those children who perform at the Vincent De Paul concert will be
travelling to sing at the Airport.
Crumlin Children’s Hospital Appeal
On Friday December 13th , the school will hold a Christmas Jumper/Jersey Day in aid of Crumlin Children’s
Hospital. Children and Teachers are asked to wear a Christmas Jumper or a Red Football Jersey to school and to
donate 3Euro toward the hospital. This is a very worthy cause and is for a facility to which many of our vhilfren
past and present have attended. We ask for your support on the day.
End of Term
The school will close at 12p.m. on Friday December 20th , for the Christmas break. We reopen on Monday January
6th at the usual time for the beginning of Term 2.

Access to school
I wish to draw your attention to the previous newsletter in which we requested parents to remain at the school
gates until the children’s time of dismissal. (1:55p.m & 2: 55p.m) We are advised that this is necessary for both
insurance and for child protection reasons. We thank you for your attention to this matter.
With Thanks
